7/28/2023 0 Comments Intel pentium 4 hyperthread![]() ![]() I have had both processors and assumed the Pentium D was rubbish until one day I just needed something to slot into the 775 board on a machine I was building until I bought a new cpu. If you are only going to use basic coolers and PSU stick with the P4. The Pentium 4 HT should be as quick at the same clock speed for single threaded applications but the Pentium D will be comparable to a low end Core2 Duo when properly cooled etc. ![]() The Pentium D uses more power and requires decent aftermarket cooling to run properly, if it gets hot or you have a weak power supply it will either run slowly or freeze the system altogether. ![]()
